Deeply explore one yoga pose each month
Are you really in Sukhasana? Shins need to be parallel with feet hidden under opposite knee.
Sit in the pose for a long time – 5-10 minutes. What comes up?
Compare being on a lift and not. What changes?
How is this pose different from Siddhasana? Compare the two. When would one be more appropriate than the other?

I didn't realize how much I collapse in the heart in the "umph" to get up into the pose! When I focus on keep the heart open throughout, I feel like I am flying!
Too focused on balancing to even think about the heart? Try practicing both poses against a wall, using the wall as a touch point for your upper back, top hand, hip and leg. Feel what it's like to really be open!
Ardha Chandrasana is my favorite pose of all time. I like it because it is challenging but it feels so good when I am in it. I love the openness in my heart and my hips as well as the low position of my head. I do this pose everywhere and especially enjoy doing it on the golf course while waiting to tee off and I always do it after I go for a run--anywhere outside. I feel like I am opening my body to receive the wonderful things of nature. Because I do the pose in unique places, I have learned to do it without a block and really enjoy the lower position of my head. I don't typically move smoothly from Trikonasana to Ardha Chandrasana but have been working on it. It makes it more challenging for me to not look down as I move into it but I have been practicing at the wall to take the balance challenge out of the pose and just enjoy the openness of moving from one to the other.
